MHT

Microsoft Internet Explorer - Web Archive, single file.

Should you ever get an attachment on an e-mail with the suffix of .mht, then this will help explain what the file represents.

The file was created from a web page, most likely by using the "SaveAs" function which is part of Internet Explorer® but using the alternate option of "SaveAs" - "Web Archive, single file (*.mht). See picture below.
save as *.mht pix
Files saved in this manner do have some detrimental side effects in that any animated .gif files cab only be retrieved (saved) as .bmp (bit-mapped images) which only succeeds in capturing the first frame of animation.   Any sound effects such as background music are apparently ignored, so you miss out on them too.

If you want to retain the graphics animations and sound you are better to save the page as "Web Page complete (*.html *.htm).
