SENDING EMAIL attachments - more detailed instruction

Attaching a file to an e-mail is quite straight forward.

Let us assume you have already got a new email page in front of you, and you have addressed it and entered a subject.

With the new e-mail page in front of you, click the picture of the paper-clip.

When the "Insert Attachment" window comes up, use the button with the "up one folder" arrow on it to locate your file (see below)

insert attachment-1.gif

Click the 'up arrow' until you get to your C: directory, like on the picture below

insert attachment-2.gif

NOTE: Make sure you have the "Files of type:" selected as All Files (*.*) using the 'V' arrow at the right of that area.

Double-click the directory/folder where your picture or movie (whatever) is located. You might have to slide the scroll bar across till you get to the folder.

Once you have found the file you were looking for, click the [Attach] button and it will put that file in the area under the "Subject:" line of the e-mail.

You will see the 'icon' for your attached file appear at the bottom of your e-mail page, or in the case of Explorer 4 and later, a new area just under the 'Subject:' area of your e-mail.

Repeat as required for further files.    Send the e-mail in the normal manner.

Alternatively, using Windows XP (*) Locate the picture you wish to send,
(*) Right-click on the picture you want to send,
(*) From the menu that appears, select 'Send to Mail Recipient',
(*) Click [OK]
(*) A new email message will be produced for you to address and send.
