Getting started with a Windows based computer - page 3A.

Windows control objects!!!
Each time you 'open' a new Window it will have features similar to this one.

The list across the top of the page gives you various options via drop-down menus. Generally these are similar on all kinds of windows applications. By clicking the left mouse button on one of the words a list will drop down and you can select any of the options shown. If an option is 'ghosted' it means that option is not available.

Windows Scroll Bars
At the extreme right we see a vertical scroll bar. This is indicating that the page is longer (deeper) than can viewed on one page. Your options are to click on the little triangular arrows at top or bottom to scroll up or down the page content. Alternatively, you can click the left mouse button on the solid bar (in this case just below the top triangle) and while holding the button down drag the bar downwards.
Scroll bars only appear if the content of a window is too large to be viewed all at once.

The same idea applies to the horizontal scroll bar and triangles.
