For anyone with an interest in Central Otago's early days, this potted history is a must. Beautifully organized with old and present day photographs it depicts not only "Old Buildings, Buggies and Relics" but gives an insight into what life was like during the gold-rush days. The bonus section featuring 'man's best friend' is a delight also. A.W.

I have just finished watching "Old Buildings, Buggies & Relics". Having lived & travelled widely in the areas covered I can appreciate all the items & scenes portrayed in this DVD. The "Then & Now" aspects tell us a lot of the History of Otago. The Text & Signboards included give just enough Information. The content & quality of this DVD is of a high standard & it is obvious there has been a lot of effort put into it. Also the little "Add On" at the end tells a story of a different kind. R.W.W.

I have been to many of the goldfield spots. Spent a lot of time around Bendigo area. Great to have these pics in an (album) Cheers. Regards John :)

"You can well imagine Alan Gilchrist having to continue on the back of the page in filling out a form when he got to the question asking him to list his interests. He seems to have a natural curiosity about almost everything - from birds to buggies to bus stop art, from the Dunedin suburb of Kaikorai to Commodore computers to old currency. Alans excellent photographs and diligent research have illuminated the stories behind these and many other matters on various Internet websites.
He has now taken the fruits of some of that research and produced a DVD photo slideshow on the history of Otagos "Old Buildings, Buggies & Relics: Images From Central Otagos Early Days" and much much more. It will be a rewarding couple of hours of nostalgia for those who have been to out of the way places such as Bendigo, and an open invitation to those who havent. The photographs are complemented by informative captions and soothing music."
