A Stick Insect in our garden - 12th January 2012

By chance this green stick insect was found on one of our rose bushes at our residence in Fairfield, Dunedin on 12th January 2012. The total length of this insect with front legs extended was 14cm. A photograph was duly taken and forwarded to the Otago Daily Times, Dunedin, who published an article on Saturday 14th January 2012.
Apparently these are known a the Prickly Stick Insect Acanthoxyla prasina.
